Emil Cassian Dumitraș (b. 1983, Sângeorz-Băi) graduated from the University of Arts and Design in Cluj in 2006, specializing in the Department of Ceramics. In 2008, he completed his master’s studies with a specialization in sculpture at the same university in Cluj. He currently resides and works in Sângeorz-Băi. His works have been showcased in museums, galleries, various exhibition spaces, and are part of private collections both in Romania and abroad. Cassian is an artist known for experimenting with diverse and challenging mediums and techniques. Some of his notable solo exhibitions include “Memento” in Târgu-Jiu, Romania; “Amar” at the George Apostu Art Center in Bacău; “Blame” at Galateea Gallery in Bucharest; “Dance of Rapture” at MACSB; and participation in events like the ART Forest Sangeorz Băi Symposium, Troyan International Ceramics Symposium in Bulgaria, Fuerteventura International Sculpture Symposium in Spain, Gumusluk International Sculpture Symposium in Turkey, and the Ceramic Biennale in Cluj.
